Change. The word just seems to creep into our vocabulary more and more these days and as we all know, it is the one true constant in our lives. It’s not always easy to accept change – it gets us out of our comfort zone – we’re faced with the need to learn and adapt to new ways of doing what we used to do – good or bad!
Business Can Blossom and Reach New Audiences
The internet and social media have changed the way that we do business, communicate with friends, family, strangers around the globe, even the way we search and recruit for employment. Before we make any major purchase these days, we spend time researching and seeking advice about products and services from our Facebook friends and Twitter followers. And 93% of B2B customers use search before making any purchase decisions. LinkedIn has evolved into a powerful tool of the trade for business professionals whether they are seeking jobs, recruiting, looking for information, or expanding their own businesses.
A Fad? Hardly!
Have you noticed that more and more of major US brands are now including their Facebook and Pinterest links in their TV advertising campaigns? And our local and national news broadcasters all invite us to follow them on Twitter. Government and religious leaders have also taken to the Twitosphere knowing it’s the best – and quickest – way to communicate to nearly every demographic group.
Brand reinforcement happens every time your business or brand gets mentioned through a social media channel. Facebook users alone share over 4 billion items per day. Those of us who dabble in the industry know that getting customers to engage among themselves and with us on OUR Facebook business pages is total nirvana! Social media has also become more and more visual. Facebook and Google+ Local give you plenty of space, not to mention higher visibility in their respective news feeds, to highlight your products and services through photos and videos. Pinterest and Instagram have grown rapidly since their introduction and are great platforms for product and service providers to showcase both.
